Can Anyone Tell Me Why....

...my hydrangea won't bloom? The little tiny one we planted last year has blooms on it but he huge one we planted 3 or 4 years ago hasn't one single bloom. The foliage is thick and beautiful, just no blooms.

...my posts are posting at the wrong time? Saturday's post popped up on Friday and Monday's post came up Sunday night. I have checked the time, date and time zone settings in my blogger account and they are correct...but my scheduled posts are a mess.

...there are no hummers at my feeders this year nor butterflies in my gardens? Every Summer since I've had my deck there have been hummers at my feeder each morning. As a matter of fact the same couple came back year after year. But this summer I've not seen one sign of them. As a matter of fact, I've not seen any butterflies either. And the butterfly bush has been known to regularly have a hundred or more butterflies at one time.

And just to thank you for your help...I am going to give you a little tip...pop over to my real life friend, Susan's blog, for a funny story. My whole family has been laughing at it for days now.

  1. Well, I don't know where you live but our hydrangea bushes aren't blooming around here yet. Neither the new baby one nor my neighbor's more established ones.

Don't know about your post but Mimi, Erica and I have been having trouble with ours NOT posting!

  4. I am no help on the flowers. As for the hummers, I have had a significant decrease in them this year also. Last year I probably fed between 50-100 hummers, this year it might be 20. It is really sad.
Thank you for spending the time to read and comment on my posts yesterday! You are a great bloggy friend!

  5. I had the same problems with a post...must be blogger.

About your hydrangea...ours are huge as well, and no blooms yet either. Strange...I am still thinking they will come though. About your hummingbirds and butterflies...no help there. Sorry.

  6. Hi Kat,

I miss my hydrangeas. That doesn't help you though. Since I moved here, I can't plant things since we rent. Our hold house had 2 beautiful hydrangea plants; they are one of my favorite flowers.

Not sure what's going on with the hummingbirds and butterflies, but I would be sad, too.

I haven't been blogging much, but I just wrote a really long one about Rome.

    Talk to you soon.

    Blessings!
    Carol

Sounds like we have a lot in common too. (hopefully when I am done moving, i will get a chance to visit you more often, but I will definitely add you to my blogroll for now)

as for the hummers... did you have a pine tree that you cut down? I know Pines keep them around :)
