Vista

Dear Peppers,

Driving into town brings about lots of sights that I find amusing. I am sure the locals think I am a crazy tourist but what else can you do when you see a shepherd bringing in a herd of geep. Really that is what these creatures are called. Look up and find out what they are and each of you can tell me one thing about these unique animals.

The promised views of Mt. Etna. These are taking from in town near the market. I am told that you can photograph it from the same spot every day of the week and never get the same picture. Even though the air is warm down here, you can see there is already snow on top of the mountain.

See how the clouds set on top of the mountain. Allen, doesn't this remind you of our volcano in St. Kitts? I can 't wait until we can come here together and hike up to the top.

This was taken further outside of town nearer to Di and Ben's house. I love the view of the Valley from this road. Can you tell how the houses are built up the mountain side?

These little houses are stuck all over the country side and seem to all be abandoned. The farms and orchards surrounded them are active and beautiful with orange groves and other vegetation that I can't recognize.

This is one of those houses built into the side of the hill you saw earlier. I took this in town just before the Market.

Just some things I thought were neat.

Another view of the town built on the mountain.

Do you see the tiny road winding down the hill?

People drive very fast and pass like mad men on this narrow roads.

And speaking of cars. The boys will be interested in this license plate.

And these cars. See how little they are to fit on the tiny roads.

This is a catus called prickly pear. It grows in hedgerows along the road. Aren't they beautiful? Look up on the internet and you can find out how to harvest and eat them. Why don't you come back and let me know the answers.

Well, my darlings. I hope you have enjoyed these sights that I found photo worthy. I can't wait to pop over to your blog and see what you all are up to. Hugs and Kisses for each of you.

Ciao,

Mama Pepper
