Not Me Monday 2-8-10

I want to tell you how super great all of you are. For all those who wished me a good night sleep... I did indeed go to sleep and have the greatest night's rest you could imagine. Did you ever fall asleep and then sleep so sound that you woke up surprised to see sunlight? That was me. Thursday I woke feeling completely refreshed and ready to face a very busy day.

Even more so, a super big thank you for all your beautiful birthday wishes. Yes, indeed, I am incredibly blessed beyond measure and certainly beyond what I deserve. I was touched reading all your messages and birthday well wishes. Several times, I even found myself dabbing at my eyes. You all are the greatest and it has been a tremendous encouragement to get to know you all.

And that goes double for my real life family and friends who did so many special things to make my birthday a wonderful experience from blog posts like this one and letters like this one, to flowers, cards and phone calls, "... gee, I'm a lucky girl!"

And now...

It's time for NOT Me Monday again. I know I took last week off but I will more than make up for it this week!

This is NOT the little girl I dreamed of sitting on her potty in a St. Louis Rams outfit reading Motor Trend.

I did NOT sweep this up from under my sofa...

... so that I could put down a new rug in our family room.

These are NOT my kids hiding in the boys' room, blowing up balloons, thinking I do NOT know what they are doing...

... so that they could bounce on me to usher in my birthday.

And while we are at it... this is NOT me, without my makeup. NOR are these the same balloons in my shower.

This is NOT my very own Happy Day!

NOR is this the girl who claimed it as her own.

My darling children did NOT make me this delicious breakfast for me, featuring the best scones you will ever eat which happens to be Brianna's NOT so secret recipe (coming in a future blog post).
You must be mistaken. NEITHER are those a dozen beautiful roses from my sweetheart. And when he was buying those flowers, the lady in line behind him did NOT ask him what he did to get in trouble with his wife.

I did NOT find this gift from my brother hanging on my front door...

... and inside there was NOT this delicious treat from my sweet brother who did NOT get up very early to go to Starbucks to get it before making his 4:30 A.M. commute to work.

There is NO way the fellow who spent 18 years of our lives torturing me in any way he could conjure would do something so sweet for me. NO WAY! The brother of mine who forgets that the family Thanksgiving Dinner is at my house, could not remember that scones are one of my very favorite breakfast treats.

This is NOT me trying out the kids new cross country skiing method. We all know that by the time you reach my age and have seven children you stick to safer past times.

I do NOT love the UPS man simply because he leaves packages on my doorstep while I am off playing.
I can NOT be 38 because the last time I checked I was still 25 and I have friends that will back me up on that. NOR have I decided that this is the best age I have ever been. I am NOT comfortable with where the Lord has brought me and content with the experience I have gained through trials and error and a few more trials. This does mean that I am comfortable with the gray in my hair or the laugh lines around my eyes. But I am comfortable with Avon and a good hair dresser to see me through another 38.

While the rest of our town was upset at the prospect of more snow... I would NOT have the nerve to be thrilled that a blizzard came through and dumped a record amount of snow Friday and Saturday, leaving us snowed in and unable to go anywhere for three wonderful, glorious, splendid days of family fun times.

When we discovered someone had to go to town to get medicine for Elisabeth, I did NOT suggest that since Allen had to take the Suburban because it has four wheel drive that we take the entire family out for a drive in a blizzard because we could pretend we were in a horse drawn sled and what a beautiful drive it would be.

NOR did I suggest that we make a bonfire outside even though we had a perfectly good wood stove inside.

This is NOT Allen, Me and the Big girls pushing my brothers car up the road next to our house, which happens to be rather steep, because he decided to come back to celebrate my birthday with us.

NO one in their right mind would think that a little escort could make it up such a hill in a storm such as this! Oh, but this is Frank we are talking about. I was NOT thrilled to have him with us.

He did NOT bring two pizzas since it was Dish Night at the Wachter's which the kids did NOT eat in the snow by a bonfire.

This is NOT the most dedicated father and husband who spent hours digging...

... this path so that we could spend four hours sledding on Saturday.

This is NOT us crashing into a snow bank.

Elisabeth is NOT eating snow.

That is NOT our camper

NOR our cars

NOT our pool

and NOT the deck

NOT the train...

In case you missed it yesterday, this is NOT my hubby grilling burgers in 29 inches of snow.

Even if I did NOT historically have some very bad birthdays this still was the best birthday I have had in all my life.

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
