Cheese Burger Cookies

I remembered this morning that I had promised this recipe quite some time ago.  I found this in Joanne Fluke's book "The Cream Puff Murder".  I took it back to the library a long time ago but I was able to find almost the same recipe on line.

The only difference is we made our icing from scratch (any butter cream recipe will work) and my instructions called for coloring some icing red to look like ketchup.

Any chocolate covered cookie you like will work in place of the Grasshopper cookies.  We used some caramel filled and some peanut butter filled.  Do what you like.  It won't matter.

When it comes to taste remember these are all about fun for the kids to build and the cute look.  If you want delicious bake from scratch.☺

Here is the recipe as I found it at

1 box of Nilla Vanilla wafers
□   Keebler Grasshopper cookies
□   Vanilla frosting - colored orange
□   Coconut - colored green (place in a Baggie with green food coloring and shake)
□   Sesame seeds
□   Egg white

Spread dab of frosting on 1 vanilla wafer, enough so cookie sticks. Place Grasshopper cookie on top of frosting. Spread with orange frosting so it kind of oozes down side a little (like cheese). Sprinkle with green coconut (looks like lettuce). Top with another wafer. Dab a little egg white on the top of wafer, enough for sesame seeds to stick. Sprinkle on a few sesame seeds.

  1. Those look so fun!! You are a great mom -- :)

  2. Oh, those look so cute! And so simple as well! :)

  3. Kat,

After looking at how amazing these turned out and how easy there were to make, I am going to try this one. Can't wait to see what our older teens and their friends think! I think as long as it tastes great they won't care what it is.

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  4. Oh my word these are so cute Kat! I might have to try this for Hazy's birthday.

  5. Even though these didn't taste that great, I love the way they came out <3
