Welcome 2011!

C.P. (aka Mom) has been extremely busy lately and didn't have time to write a post for New Year. So she asked me to post the one I wrote for my blog, so here I am, post and all! -Näna

A year ago, we rang in the New Year with the news of the sudden death of a very dear friend. We were all already sick with the flu and this was just the icing on the cake per say. Looking back, the year doesn't seem to improve much from there.

In May we found out that Gussie was one the way.

In June we lost our family.

In July, we lost Gussie.

In August our pastor and long time friend passed away.

And several other small things in between that make you wonder, "how long is this year?"

But the wonderful thing is that in between those trials have been patches of sunshine that has sustained us.

"The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." Job 1:21
And that is so true; but, if you read on in Job, you will see that, yes, God took everything but it didn't stop there because in the last chapter God gave back to Job several times what he'd lost.

Isn't that our God? While we are mourning the loss of something He is already giving back. For us, he has given back abundantly everything we have lost.

In the loss of our family our friends and church family have been amazingly wonderful. Old friends such as Aunt Dawn & the Jacksons and we've been blessed with meeting new friends this year such as the March family Aunt Hope (and those of you who are reading this, love you guys!).

Gussie can never be replaced, and he holds a very special place in our hearts, but even the gap that was left when he died has been healed and filled.

Here's to a 2011 filled with the love and blessings of God!

Cheers!

Blessings,
Näna
