Popcorn is one of our family's favorite snacks.  A few months ago our popper stopped working and we have had to resort to microwave pop corn.  Not nearly as good as the real stuff.  We have not had time to get the necessary replacement parts from the Old Fashioned Popcorn company.  (Be honest now.  Am I the only person in the world having trouble getting things done these days?)

Again, the Lord blessed us by giving us the desire of our heart when we never even got around to asking.  The other day a friend of ours stopped by to drop off some clothing for the girls.  She asked if we would possibly have need for a popcorn maker?  Would we ever!

Last night you would have thought something amazing was happening when we pulled it out to pop up a few batches before bed.  All the kids gathered around to watch.
Elisabeth got so excited she actually put her arms around the machine and gave it a hug.
I thought that was the funniest thing I'd ever seen until I walked around the other side of the counter and saw this.
What can I say?  Simple minds.  Simple pleasures.  Life is good.

A great big Wachter thank you to Mark and Terri!

  1. Oh popcorn is so delicious! We are old school...we microwave our popcorn. Ha! Popcorn made in a popper probably is sooo much better than microwaved. :)

  2. i finally got around to getting a popper for down here. our kids are just like yours.. it's almost as much fun watching the popcorn pop as it is to eat it :)

  3. Ever since we started making popcorn on the stove, microwave popcorn just doesn't measure up! But, I ruined the pan I always used, so I'm now in the market for a good popper. (besides the small Hello Kitty one that our daughter got for her birthday years ago!)

  4. our favorite is cheese pop corn ;)

  5. I need to get one of those ,because I keep getting burned.I have a brand new burn from yesterday.I heat oil on a large pot and pop it.then add salt and the kids like to add hot sauce.

  6. We just replaced our Whirley Pop - couldn't stand the microwave stuff. Do you have any favorite toppings?
