Flowers For the Lightpost

Allen and I were strolling around the yard and admiring the flowers when we stopped at the light post.  I made the comment that it needed some flowers.  This has always been nicely planted but nothing came up this spring and even the bushes that are there were looking kind of limp.

He decided it was time for a trip to the nursery.  Elisabeth went along with us and she had a blast.  We let her choose all the flowers for there and another planting project we had in our future.  When we got home she ran to get the wagon and happily loaded them in.  With the sun getting near noon, we decided to plant that evening.  She happily pulled that wagon around all day waiting for Pa to finish his work.

When he finally made his way outside with tools in hand, Samuel had joined the happy gardening club.  I had so much fun sitting by and watching these two put their heads together as they decided where to plant each annual.  Samuel dug the holes and Ellie put in the fertilizer and flowers.
The heat and drought have taken their toll, but I can't think of a more beautiful garden than this one planted with such love, smiles and team work.

  1. I still can't believe how dry everything looks! Still a lovely garden. And I love seeing Ellie with her flowers.

  2. Very beautiful.
