Mother's Day 2012

I do think it is so funny how the kids different personalities show in the gifts they gave me for Mother's Day.

As I shared in the previous post, my computer loving girl gave me an internet domain.  Aedan made me a useful pot to put things in.  And Kaitlin made me a cozy for my French Press.  How cool is that?

Allen had all the kids design plates.  Have you ever seen those?  Our kids did them many years ago and they were such special memories.  We have had at least four more kids since then so it was definitely time for an update.

There was also a Chili Rellenos cook book, some great smelling soap and a pendant with a silver parakeet.
The kids made scones and fruit to eat breakfast in the garden, which is one of my favorite things to do this time of year when everything is so green and the Iris is in bloom.
Sunday's are definitely not a day of rest for our family.  Between two church services there is barely time to get our own quiet time with the Lord and family Bible reading done.  But we stopped in our favorite Sunday spot for a quick lunch before running home for Carmella's nap.  They have this new Caribbean  salad that I am crazy about... mango and avocado.... oh, so good!  It is way too enormous for words, though.
We had about an hour to sit by the pool while Winnie was resting.  Aedan and I played cards and he told me he let me win, being it was Mother's Day and all.

Allen and the kids cooked dinner on the grill when we got home from our evening service.  We were grateful the rain held off til after dark.  I can't think of a nicer way to spend a Sunday than surrounded by the sweet family I love.  And who for some undeserved reason, they love me, too.  I hope you all had a blessed day with the Lord and with your families.

Hugs,

Kat
