The Swing

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!
Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside
Till I look down on the garden green
Down on the roof so brown-
Up in the air I go flying again
Up in the air and down!
Robert Louis Stevenson

  1. Oh, such happy memories I have wrapped up in this poem! It was the first bit of verse I can remember learning by memory, and I can't count how many times I use to recite it softly to myself on the swing at age six or seven.

Ellie and Winnie look adorable in their matching dresses, and it's lovely to see them having such a beautiful time together!

    Much love,
    Elizabeth Rose
